Internet of Things, Supply Chain Management, Real-time Tracking, Predictive Maintenance, IoT Adoption
This paper investigates the integration of the Internet of Things (IoT) in supply chain management (SCM), focusing on its applications in real-time tracking, inventory management, predictive maintenance, and overall efficiency enhancement. Based on the secondary research data from industry reports case studies, coupled with hypothetical survey research involving 100 stakeholders (SCM Manager, logistics Managers, IT Professionals and Manufacturing/Retail Industry CEO) analysis of the advantages, difficulties and outcome of adoption is considered till the end of 2025.The key outcome areas differentiate profound visibility (up to 30% relative effective gains)improvement and cost saving, nuanced by security and compatibility issues. The outcome of the survey reveal strong perceived advantages in terms of operational efficiencies but moderately perceived difficulties in terms of implementation costs and data security. The scope of the internal things (IoT) SCM Market at over $80 billion in 2025, expanding at a rapid pace, outlines the massive potential of the sector despite the hurdles.
